Dog Trainers and Training Facilities

The following is a list of trainers and training facilities in the central Ohio area. The Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine does not endorse any particular trainer. You are responsible for determining whether a particular trainer will be the best for you and your pet. Here are a few questions to help you assess a potential trainer:

What method of training will be used? (Positive reinforcement is the best.)
How long has the person been a trainer? What type of training or experience do they have?
How involved will you as the owner be in the training of your dog? (It is important to train you as well as your dog!)
Does the trainer require vaccinations for all dogs in the facility? (This is for everyone’s protection.)
Ask your veterinarian and friends for a recommendation.
